Christmas Greetings

To Everyone:

Since it began, I have been following the various posts on our hometown blog. I must say that many of the posts are very helpful, with many thought-provoking comments and almost all are very interesting. We have to thank Annie for coming up with the idea of a Bacon blog and putting it into effect.

We have no doubt that all those who participate in this blog are sincere in their desire to help improve our hometown. However, everyone approaches matters, situations or issues in a different manner and, usually, not with the same viewpoint, which generates some of the more passionate discussions. That is all good for as long as the discussions, while expressing frank and honest views, are conducted with due respect and courtesy to all participants. In such a manner, discussions would, hopefully, be more productive and generate ideas that, if given effect, could redound to the benefit of Bacon and its people.

At the advent of the Christmas Holidays, however, let us pause for a few moments and remember the Season for Giving, for friendships, and for wishing our friends, relatives and all who are dear to us the joys of the Season. While we enjoy the Holidays, let us always remember the reason and meaning of Christmas - to celebrate His birth and the peace and goodwill that it brings to all.

Merry Christmas to all. Happy Holidays.

To Tony,

I appreciate your personal views with regards to the comments by some of the contributors to this blog by Annie, negative or positive approaches. Maybe, those who said some unpleasant or unwholesome views about what is happening in our former town, medyo makulog an mga boot dahilan ngani sa pagkawara kan satuyang banwa as one of the municipality of Sorsogon province. Pero yaon na ngani iyan, nangyari an dapat mangyari. Siguro all we can do is encourage everyone, especially lawyers and political minded Bacongnons to come up with researches as to how Bacon will regain its municipal identity and present the matter for a signature campaign to the people. Actually great majority are clamoring for its former distinction as a town, since there are no visible developments that the citihood has brought to Bacon and benefited the residents. Poverty has gone up.

Anyway, you are truly correct! Let us forget some issues about our former beloved town and pause for while to celebrate the Christmas season. Let love and peace reign in our hearts even for this momment and who knows, after Christmas, we might have brighter ideas that will eventually solve the situation.

God bless Tony as well as with your family and dear ones! May God showers you more abundantly with His profound grace.

Bako kitang magkamidbid pero gusto kong ipaabot saimo, "Ingat lagi"!

No offense, Mr. Tony but Toastmasters-The Road to Success is bigger than the title of your article and seeing that participants were just discussing how to make Bacon better in other posts to this blog, it is giving an impression that being a Toastmaster will ensure success for anyone. Also with the big blue highlighted words and other blue colored letters, your Christmas message is drowned. To the administrator, the glaring, neon like blue letters do not seem to be right with the light color of Christmas Greeting title.

I still like the contents of the article even with some inappropriateness. For that thanks to Mr. Tony. Feliz Navidad.

Thank you so much for the reminder.

To Retired Police Inspector:
You are right, we need to campaign for the return of Bacon municipality.
It should be done NOW before the next election.

To European:
We made adjustment as to the color & size.
Thanks.Your comment is well taken.
Feliz Navidad.

After reading the Christmas message, after perusing the above remarks, indeed, Christmas is just around. There is consideration for others, there is respect despite unlikely honest opinions; there is enough humility to acknowledge mistakes and change; there is appreciation and most importantly, there is hope. Hope, that unselfish cooperation and civic duty will continue to prevail, if only for the sake of Bacon; if only for the sake others; if only for the sake of the world in however, whatever small space we are in it.

Merry Christmas to everybody and prayerful wishes of good tidings for the coming year! Once more, let us not forget those from whom the true message and joy of Christmas have been taken away.

To return Bacon to an independent municipality is a political issue and requires a political campaign under the leadership of a political figure with a political organization.

Excellent comments by Retired Inspector and European.

To all Bacongnons that I love:

“CHRISTMAS IS A TIME FOR LOVE"

Christmas is a time for love, a time for Joy and Peace;
A time to trim the Christmas tree and a time to stuff the geese.
It's a time when we can come together, however far or near
To shed a little hope into a world of sorrow and fear.

Yet Christmas can be all year round, if only we would try,
To gently wipe an old man's brow or sooth a baby's cry.
If we could smile throughout the year as we do on Christmas day
Just think what happiness we shed along life's weary way.

To give a gift of Hope to one who otherwise has none
To be a friend to somebody whom everyone else has shun.
To be forgiving of our faults, and of our sistrs and our brothers
To live in Peace and Harmony with ourselves and with each other.

Ah, Don't you see that Christmans is more than just opening gifts?
It's more than singing Christmas Carols and rolling in big snow drifts.
It's a feeling that can stay throughout each day, all year;
And all it takes is a loving Heart...and a sensitive little tear...

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU!

Are there any plans started on how to address Bacon's woes as discussed last year? El Muralla, the last tone of your remark above seems to carry a promise. Anything in the works yet?

How is Bacon now?
