1.The First Bacongnon Parish Priest assigned in Bacon is Rev. Father Douglas Dimaano, the eldest son of the late Engr. Felix Dimaano and Fortuna Manduriao Dimaano(a former school principal). Douglas, as he is called among relatives, former classmates, and friends is well known as an achiever, highly intelligent with a very good sense of humor. Bacongnons happily welcome the good news.Another first in Bacon is the Assistant Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Romy Dimaano, son of Bacongnons too. First time that Bacon has 2 Bacongnons with the same surnames ( Dimaano), cousins who are assigned as priests in one parish.
2. There are 3 often talked about potential mayoral candidates in Sorsogon City. They are the incumbent Mayor Leovic Dioneda, incumbent Vice Mayor Edmund Atutubo and Bobet Lee, son of Gov. Raul Lee and Sally Lee. However, Dioneda and Lee have the most money to spend on this return political bout of the 2 candidates. Both are supported by political giants nationally and locally. Sorsoganons are expecting a titanic battle of 2 opposing parties and their supporters figuratively and possibly literally. Hopefully, no blodshed will flow in the extreme heat of the contest.
3. The 2-story Public Market in Sorsogon City is already completed, while the bridge in Bacon going to barrio San Juan is still being repaired. Bacongnons are saying that the bridge repair is motivated by the nearing election.
There is still no budget for the repair of the Bacon Public Market which is too cramp, leaking and extremely old.
4. The Catholic Cemetery in Bacon is fast running out of burial space. Almost every space has now been taken. The church is planning to buy the adjacent private land beside the civil cemetery owned by the family of the late Luis Duka. There is an undergoing negotiation with the family.
There is a seeming phenomenon in Bacon with regard to the daily dead Bacongnon which require a burial lot.
People are saying that the often occurences of death are a result of extreme poverty, lack of food and medical negligence. Some said the deaths are now proportionate to the increasing population in Bacon???
5. A seminarian in Sorsogon Carlo Ebrada, presently studying in the Divine Mercy School is so much in need of a kind benefactor to financially assist him in his goal to become a priest. Carlo, a struggling young man from Banao, Bacon is very poor but very passionate in his desire to complete his noble goal to be a priest. He is wellknown among his former teachers, friends and school principals ( Mr. Amado Manduriao, Jr.among them) in his elementary years as compassionate, highly intelligent, who received a lot of scholastic awards and with a natural leadership talent. Carlo, has a bright future if only someone generous will extend a financial hand. You will be proud of him someday.
Any kind person who wish to help may contact Mr. Amado Manduriao, Jr. of Burabod, Bacon, Sorsogon City, Philippines.

I always relish any news report from Bacon. Can you publish something from Bacon every 2 weeks.
Thank you so much.
My comments:
1.I truly enjoyed listening to Fr. Douglas’ homily. The scriptures were well explained w/ added humor.
2.Yes, the public cemetery in Bacon is now too crowded. I heard some tombs were being vandalized.
3.Since there is no budget to expand Bacon public market, the administration’s solution is to use the street from the market all the way to the street going to Duazo’s property.
It is not only hazardous, messy but it is also an eyesore to those who appreciates beauty & order.
This administration’s budget was able to provide small tables that are left at the curb after market day.
My estimate cost for each table is PHP 46.70 or $1. I counted approximately 20 tables; a total of PHP 934.00 or $20. That’s the budget they can afford us.
While Sorsogon’s public market is now complete, Bacongnons are using the streets. Don’t we have a Bacongnon city mayor?
4. Since election is coming up, I will support & campaign to whoever can provide a better solution to our public market.
5. At this date, Carlo Ebrada has found a kind benefactor. There are also other seminarians that need help.

Thank you.Ms. Annie.
The Bacon's Cemetery was planned a hundred years ago when Bacon was sparsely populated. Now Bacon's residents had since tripled or more, coupled with the obvious poverty and medical negligence, a small ancient cemetery will certainly be overwhelmed.
There is also a Father Roy Eco from Bacon. Where is he now?
It is a little bit tiresome to hear that candidates in Sorsogon, for generations now are either a Lee, Escudero or Dioneda. Is the province so bankrupt with new leadership talents that they keep on electing such mediocre(& worse) dynasties?
This website is about Bacon. More new from Bacon please.
Thank you Ms.Annie.
To Bacongnon in Paris:
I understand that Father Roy is the current parish priest of a city in Florida.
To New Jersey:
I agree with your comment re often occurences of deaths in Bacon.
To Sorsoganon:
Political dynasties have always ruled the Philippines.
Thank you for the latest Bacon news.
I want some more, please.
The most recent news from Bacon:
The illegal "hueteng", a form of gambling is so rampant in Sorsogon City, notably in Bacon District.
The rumor is that the police and city government are closing their eyes because the money raised from such illegal activities will be used for the reelection campaign of some city officials.
Only one lane of the bridge going to San Juan was repaired. The rumor is that the CDF fund for the bridge will be reserved for a national campaign of a wannabe presidential candidate.
To Correspondent:
I heard about that too.
Elect Aquino/Roxas!
Elect Lee & Atutubo!
To: For Good government
You want me to vote for those political dynasties? Good government? Those people are likewise mediocre or worse as Sorsoganon said.
Tsk.. tsk.. tsk..
Sorry "not among you" you were deleted before I could respond to you.
You must be a fanatic supporter of a politician.
Well, your nasty comments did not come across.
So sorry. But try again.

I was able to read the comment of "not among you". His/her last statement was heavy, extreme, quite bluntly crude, but, the entirety of the remark was very descriptive, nevertheless, of the political environment in the P.I., past & more so at the present. The piercing remark seems to attack both nasty politicians and the voters who place them in the administration of Bacon or the Phil. I am the least surprised that it did not come across agreeably. Perhaps, more civility would have awakened or enlightened both camps???
Too bad nobody got my point. If my statement was crude and blunt it is because the exchange of comments regarding your politicians is very frustrating and not going anywhere. A lost cause if all of you can not find a better candidate with integrity.
I was not able to read the comment of "Not Among You" but if his comments were simply blunt and crude, why should it be censored?
Please be easy on censorships. It's better to err a little on the side of the Freedom of Speech.
To those commentators hiding in annonymity, please don't abuse your right to speak.
I guess at some point some comments need to be blunt and more graphic. Especially if the people in the situations being talked about are bad enough to affect badly a big group of persons like those in a city, town or even country. Especially if there is urgency and a lot of responsibilities & problems are at stake. Especially if the bad things have been going on for so long already. Also included in that group of people are those who need to be shaken so that they will think or do something to improve the situations being talked about. Maybe only blunt and crude words can open their eyes and make them move. Maybe blunt and crude words are the ones they understand. Maybe blunt and crude words can make them realize what exactly is going on after they talked a lot and complain.
Blunt and crude words are not welcoming but as they say For Every Rule There is an Exception.
Can you please reprint the comments of "Not among YOu" ?
Looking at the above remarks, conclusion is: The Truth Hurts
Readers of this website are all grown ups, smart, intelligent and easily capable in discerning what is right and proper or wrong, shallow or deep commentaries.
I like to read different views and takes from all angles on any topic or issue, so please keep them coming guys.
In the past 40 years the Lees (husband and wife) have either or both the governorship of Sorsogon and/or mayorship of Sorsogon City. Now it is the son who will try to inherit a political position.
Same with the Escuderos. There is always an Escudero representative.
Also Bacon seem to always lean their sympathy toward a playboy like Mayor Dioneda.
Its quite sad though that Bacon infrastructures like the old Public Market are crumbling. Bacon does not even had a sewage/canal system that is why a little rain usually flood the town.
Carlo Ebrada seem to be a very interesting person. I hope and pray he will succeed in his goal.
How many more years will Mr. Ebrada be studying?
I would never support a gay seminarian.
His right place is in the kitchen, garden and beauty salon.
Napakagandang paliwanag, paghalintulad, at pagpapa-unawa ang komentaryo mo Bacongnon.
Salamat.
To Juan:
Walang ano man. Gusto ko rin ang pananagalog mo, your choice of words in Tagalog. I can't speak that way. Please make more comments in other issues in our language please.
Salamat po.
Okey, I will not be crude or sugar coat my comment.
Do you all know that more than 50% of seminarians are gays?
What does the Catholic church do about this?
Hi, Macho! You seem to be enjoying your computer. Would you thank Alan Turing, the founder of computer science? Oh, wait; he was gay…..and a brilliant mathematician too.
He was not in the kitchen, garden or beauty salon. I hope it does not disappoint you.
In World War II, he broke the German Enigma codes. Had he not done that, the history of that war could have turned out differently. “He truly was one of those individuals we can point to whose unique contribution helped to turn the tide of war. The debt of gratitude he is owed makes it all the more horrifying, therefore, that he was treated so inhumanely”--- excerpt from Gordon Brown’s speech and apology.
He took his own life because he couldn’t take any more of the misguided opinions, and ruthless, cruel judgments. Those who played the role of God indirectly took away a human being whose capabilities could possibly help improve the world we live in.
atta girl, Ms. Jenny.
May I add that in all professions and endeavors and in all relationships there is always a gay. I guarantee this that Macho will be very proud of one of his progeny one day for his or her achievements.
p.s. I am straight with 4 children and 4 grandchildren, if you may wonder.
All right, I’m the villain here, although I don’t mean harm to gays/lesbians but with bad experiences, I just don’t want to be around or them around me.
The sight of them makes me uncomfortable, their antics embarrassed me, and their mere touch grosses me out.
I may not be politically right, but that’s that!
To Macho
You are not a villain. You are just uncomfortable of gays like many millions of people who have not yet adjusted to the fact that gays are also human beings but are just different in many ways like people of different cultures, race and ethnicity.
