Yes, this is one opportunity to help and to share one's blessings whereever you may be most specially if you are here in the U.S.

Humility aside, I had sent my modest donations twice in the last 3 months already because this is indeed one of the rare chances to help in a noble cause.

Please help those poor school kids.

there seem to be no reader to this appeal as it was in the first time
notice.

no interest? no heart was touched?

Hey,let's not talk too much about love, charity, helping the poor, uplifting Bacon. It's all lip service.

i do not believe in letting the whole world know about one's sympathy for the poor, what one does about this sympathy and how this concern is acted upon.

there is more glory in helping the poor without fanfare; even better anonymously.

one can always make use of his vocal chords, writing skills to remind everybody of the importance of love, charity, community upliftment, etc.; but he is not obligated to "broadcast" in the same manner what assistance he has done to the unfortunate. there is more dignity and class by doing so.

Well said Observer. Right on.

The Bible also said that it is divine to let people know one's shining example of good deeds so that others will be inspired and follow.(not the exact words but the same effect). If done tastefully and with humility then it may be alright?

Without publicity of goodworks there may be nothing or anyone to emulate or look up to for inspiration to do goodworks. I would not have learned about the Ebios if not for the printing of their touching story here. There are many poor and humble people who gave up so much for community and charity whom we would have never learned if not for publicity.

What's is the real purpose of a REUNION? I'm always thinking about the real rationale of this everytime I read notices in the broadsheets or heard it over the radio.

Is it beneficial to everyone who attended it? Does it have some projects for the betterment of the poor members and of our poor TOWN?

Some members said:
For the benefit of the poor;
For the rehab of our former school;
For th construction of new water tank;
Etc.

These are the common plans/proj everytime I attend a reunion since time immemorial!

What I think is that some members (but not all) attend the reunion to show that they are better off than others; to announce to the world that they contributed this big amount for...; to make some chica for a certain person and to see his/her former flame or crush.

A regular reunion every two years? Hmm...JUST ASKING.

donations, whatever the motivations of the giver, is beneficial to all.
I never attended a reunion yet but of course some attendees do show up to show off, but majority of them attends for the fun and to see old classmates regardless of status in life. Likewise many donors donate out of generosity
and to simply help a little.
