Alumni Homecoming - Atty.Romeo S. Morato

Please be notified that the Bacon Central School Alumni Homecoming as decided by the members in a meeting held last Dec. 5, 2007, will be held on May 17, 2008 and NOT ON MARCH 24, 2008. This was due to several factors being considered and beside school children will be having their last grading exam on the week immediately after Easter.

We are expecting you and your batch members usual cooperation to have our reunion be a success.

By that time we may have finished our project ( Elevated water tank with electric pump machine). This is to provide pupils with potable water any time and supply to their toilets for proper hygiene. We expext to inaugurate the said project simultaneously during the reunion to show to members where their contributions were spent.

Donations can be sent to me or to our Homecoming Association's Account at:
Allied Bank, Sorsogon Branch Philippines #12800307 5
Sorsogon City 4700
Philippines

Thanks for whatever support you may give. Godspeed.

Atty. Romeo S. Morato
President, Bacon Central School Alumni Homecoming

Isn't May 17 close to Bacon fiesta?
Is it still observe?

I had wanted to be at that homecoming at the originally scheduled date (March 24). It would have dovetailed my high school golden jubilee celebrations (March 22-23). Unfortunately, I could not extend my stay that long due to a seasonal business that needs my presence. I could not go in May either due to prior commitments.

And yes, May 17 is close to the Bacon Fiesta, which is on May 21. It is still observed, as far as I know.

I am heartened by the noble project for the school kids. Is there also a project for provinding the kids with sanitary soaps, toilet paper, etc. or toothbushes and toothpastes?

I like to donate if there's such a project. I need an answer(where & to whom to send.)
yhanks.

I hope this Alumni Homecoming is not just an opportunity to show off one's success but a great, noble chance to help those who unfortunately did not make it.

Thanks.

Makikiraan lang po Atty. Morato.

How exciting. I wish I could go!

Familiar places, familiar gestures, primordial characteristics, connecting familiar names to time-touched faces, re-discovering, re-acquainting…..all to rekindle the distinct warmth and comfort of simpler life; all to revive bygone years of youthful enthusiasm, replaced by another with the wisdom of senescence…..all under an atmosphere of joyful celebration --- very enticing!

it would be really interesting to join the fun. also, the project is something to be proud of. for the sake of the pupils, hopefully, everything is moving with the delight of everybody. the secret to this is dropping all egos. celebrate the pleasure of meeting everybody, not the pleasure of finding what’s wrong with anybody so that tomorrow will be filled with happy recollection not “tsimis”. hep, just sayin’! these things happen. pilipino baga. ehem!

The Alumni Homecoming event will definitely be worth the money anyone will spend. Tolong-Gapo, bucolic locale, delicious native dishes, simple ordinary folks, people of your youth whom you wish to see again, the smell and sound and scenes of long ago will again overwhelm your senses.

I like the project for the school kids by the Alumni Homecoming.

I like to come home and attend the event. In case, I can't come for any reason, whom can I send my donation for the project?

To Re:
You have translated my Tagalog comments erroneously. Nothing in my comments, by any word, phrase, or sentence equate to your translation (1st sentence). The Tagalog version of “poverty” is not specific in my comment either. However, it could be included in the words, “kasawian” and “pagdurusa”, both of which are encompassing. Due to time constraints, I will deal with the correct translation and implied meaning of some phrases or sentences later today. I hope you’ll enjoy its entirety.

I know that children are our concern..the reason for the project.

But why change the date?
This affair is for the Alumni Homecoming.
Its project is for the children.

Hello, Re.

In fairness to the purposes of the Alumni Homecoming and efforts of Atty. Morato toward these, I will not utilize this section to elaborate further on my Tagalog comments regarding the song, “Ang Bayan Ko”. The subject you want explored demands details, and I have them, but they are lengthy. I am however, considering an article that may include your concerns. Please do not expect this to be posted anytime soon because there are other contributors and I have just submitted two articles within a short period of time; or, I may completely forego the subject matter I have in mind and pursue others. Also, my schedule may prevent me from visiting this site. Meantime, you might want to focus your remarks on other posted articles and comments. Have fun with the others as well.

By the way, have you considered submitting an article? Or have you done it already, but for some reasons, would just prefer not to be identified when posting your remarks. If not, and you decide to submit one, you would have no choice but to identify yourself to Annie, the blog administrator. I am not sure if you want that. I still hope you will consider writing an article and not limit yourself to posting comments. Diversity, variety is interesting.

Hello Annie,
thanks a lot for deleting my comments. I thought you like America because in America they give you freedom, lots of freedom like freedom of speech. On the other hand you do not practice it and you just censor critical comments to those American quotations you are proud to present to the visitors of your blog.

In this website, you may invoke your freedom of speech if you are not cloaked in annonymity, if you are not also afraid to give your name and take the responsibility of your words. If you are annonymous, you forfeited that responsibility to the website administrator's who deems it wise not to publish it.

Anonymous said...

re & anonymous are one & the same.

give it up re or anonymous, whoever you are. freedom requires responsibility w/c i think you do not get. responsible comments and/or applicable, related quotations are posted to apply to certain events that may be covered by or related to essays posted in this site & to give more emphasis to principles behind these events. the quotations do not have to be about the person quoting the words, or your much hated nationality. but then again all these require a person with better understanding & definitely a polite personality.
